Submission on energy hardship

A couple of months back we flagged a useful discussion paper from the Energy Hardship Expert Panel and have now released our submission on some of the questions raised.

The Panel’s report highlighted a number of issues around the drivers of energy hardship and proposed some solutions that could assist those most in need. A number of these options – better targeting the winter energy payment, strengthening the Warmer Kiwi Homes programme and boosting energy literacy – are easy to support. Others are a bit more complex and require greater consideration of the system impacts.
