New connections

Find important info to connect to any of the 29 lines companies.

There are 29 lines companies delivering electricity to every region across Aotearoa. These are companies that operate the poles and wires. We want to make it easy for people to find important info to connect to their networks — including the connection costs.

The map below provides quick access to the connection policies for the 29 lines companies. It also includes a factsheet for each one, highlighting important connection information and how connection charges are calculated.

As the country shifts to electrifying more things, demand and investment varies from region to region. You can see this with our  demand and investment map. Lines companies have specialist knowledge and skills for the connections needed for their specific region, so a one-size-fits-all approach is not practical. This map helps anyone wanting to connect to any network find key information quickly.

Click on the map or the lines company name listed on the left-hand side. You will see two links for each lines company — a quick factsheet that pulls out key information you might need to know about connecting to their network, and also their full connection policy.

If you would like to see this map on a full screen, click on the small box (with a diagonal arrow) at the bottom right of the map.
